Make Your Shared Housing Spaces in BC Safer

with Overdose Detection Devices Funded by BC Housing

BC Non-Profit Housing Association (BCNPHA) has committed $1 million to empower housing organizations to prevent and reverse potentially fatal overdoses. Brave was chosen as a key technology provider for this initiative.

You can use BCNPHA funds to implement Brave Buttons and Brave Sensors in your shared housing spaces. Our Overdose Detection devices:

    Help residents connect with on-site staff when there’s an overdose.

    Support safe(r) drug use among residents who use drugs while alone.

    Protect frontline staff from trauma and burnout.

BC Overdose Prevention Technology Funding Initiative

Eligible housing organizations in BC can apply for funds to cover Overdose Detection devices in supportive housing buildings and emergency shelters across the province.

BCNPHA will allocate $1 million proportionally between two phases.

  • For organizations with 1 eligible supportive housing building or emergency shelter.
  • Applications closed on February 21, 2024.

  • For organizations with 2 or more supportive housing buildings or emergency shelters.
  • Applications opened on March 18, 2024 and close on April 5, 2024
