Be part of a vibrant network of harm reduction folks, public health workers, people who use drugs (PWUD), and the folks who love them.
Show your support for PWUD by showing up with love during their time of need.
Only have an hour or two at a time? That's ok. You choose when and how long you can help. The Brave App is open 24/7/365.
You can volunteer from anywhere, as long as you have a reliable cell phone connection.
Earn volunteer hours for work, school, or community service.
Brave Supporters provide private and anonymous human connection to people who use drugs alone. Here’s how it works.
After you complete the training and the Q and A call, we’ll send you an invite to join our Support Hub on BAND. Here you can connect with real-time support while on calls. You can also access volunteer resources, see community announcements, and find out important news.
You’ll be able to start taking volunteer shifts from your own phone, wherever you are. Simply schedule your shift in our volunteer system, and when it’s time to start your shift, turn on your availability in the app and let the rest of your squad in the Support Hub know you’re taking calls.
“I am happy to say I am jumping right in on being a supporter. I have never felt a cause in my whole life I felt more deeply for. [A]s someone with lived experience I knew right away I needed to do my part.”
“This app is amazing, if for no other reason because it saves lives. But also because it promotes community members to be involved in supporting their own community by meeting people where they're at!”
“I volunteer with The Brave App because it’s a community of people that love and value people who use drugs. [It provides] an avenue for doing something in the face of inexplicable non-action by governments [to counter] the overdose crisis.”
